Ridley was very interested in killing The Slime who'd helped Dark Samus try to kill him.
Indeed, he was the first of the three improvisational warriors in the meeting room to hear approaching footfalls. The gait was that of a male (female pirates were always more dexterous and they weighed less, making them quieter) and based upon the rhythm, said Pirate was in a hell of a hurry.
A low hiss passed between his teeth. He heard both of the pirates on his left tense and shift posture a bit.
This was the moment that most Pirates dreaded. Ridley was not afraid because fear heightened the likelihood that one would slip into instinct and that was bad, considering that Ridley was a very primal and ruthless predator without his sense of self.
So he simply decided not to be afraid.
The door slid open. The Slime spoke, "Chancellor-" But Ridley whipped his tail out and coiled the bony but powerful appendage around The Slime.
"Disarm him," The Security Commander ordered.
Ridley listened to The Slime protest for about a quarter of a second before tightening his grip. He heard a section of exoskeleton crack somewhere, probably on the chest of The Slime. Ridley scowled. The Slime was unusually fragile, even for a Space Pirate.

New Guy found eight separate weapons on The Slime- two electro-sabers, five laser guns, and one collapsible grenade launcher.
How he'd managed to get these weapons in through the building's security sensors, New Guy would never know.
The Slime was almost a foot shorter than New Guy (who was admittedly well-built for his species and sub-race) and probably weighed half of what New Guy did. Most of a Pirate's weight comes from his or her muscle density under the exoskeleton after all. New Guy was confident that he could have punched The Slime in the face it would have collapsed inward. The Slime did not look well.

The Chancellor fired a single laser round into The Slime's right thigh. It cut clear through the leg and left a sizzling hole that began to ooze purple blood.
That wasn't right- Pirate Blood was red. Purple meant that he was getting about half the oxygen he needed.
"I'm not crushing him that hard," Ridley said before The Chancellor asked.
Some light blue liquid dripped from The Slime's leg. Phazon.
"She was killing him too."
"Or she's just starting now," said Ridley, who looked The Slime in the eyes. The traitor Pirate looked as if he might faint.

Ridley cleared his throat. "Dark Samus is Killing you as we speak. If you speak, you will die rapidly at our hands. If you do nothing, I will crush you do death slowly, and Dark Samus will kill you at the same time. How do you want to die."
The Slime made a squeaky sound that made the other Pirates wince. His mandibles parted and he began to speak, "She promised me power."
Ridley, The Chancellor, and New Guy all rolled their eyes.
"She intends to spread Phazon everywhere and infect everyone with Phazon, then control them or kill them. She wants to get rid of the Pirates who are high ranking, like you, Chancellor, and you, Ridley, so she can lead without any competition. She said I'd be second in command."
He made a wailing and gargling noise and started to vomit Phazon. Ridley crushed his middle section rapidly and dropped the corpse. He looked at it disdainfully an said, "Traitorous slime."
The Phazon fizzed and ate away at the body.

New Guy went to a panel on the wall when it started to beep. He paled as he read the reading and turned to the other two.
"The Hunter has made Planetfall," he said.
"Where?" Asked The Chancellor in the midst of a senile moment.
"The other continent," Said New Guy.
He read the trajectories and other such things silently to himself.

Ridley approached, shoved him out of the way unceremoniously but gently, and read the feed out loud for The Chancellor. "It says the Hunter is using the underground systems."
The Chancellor pushed Ridley a bit (with no luck, several tons of raw Norfairian does not move for anyone) until he stepped aside grudgingly.
"She'll commandeer a Hazard Suit, take out as many Pirates as she can, and then She'll get on the Leviathan. She'll need the codes, of course."
"I'm sure she'll find them," New Guy said from a lonely spot far of to the side and near the corner.
The Chancellor nodded and continued. "I bet she goes after the Seed, too."
"Good Riddance," huffed Ridley. The Chancellor saw him watching the door anxiously.
"We can't let her know there's been a civil war," said The Chancellor.
"Obviously, the GF would be all over this planted. Good eating, but they're like parasites, once they're on the ship getting rid of them is a nightmare."
"Yeah, so we have to put up a resistance."
"I'll go," said New Guy. "I'll slow her up a bit in the tunnels."
"Absolutely not," said Ridley. "You will be waiting outside the Seed. When it is destroyed, you are to come for me and take me to the Medical Palace."
New Guy did not object until The Chancellor offered, "I can go."
"No," said Ridley and New Guy at once, both in strong tones.
The Elder walked in the room and sidestepped the body of The Slime as if it were nothing. "I can do it. If I'm going to die, I want to go fighting, and I wont settle for anything less than the Hunter," he said.
Silence.
And some more silence.
Someone sighed.
Gettin' it out of my system.
