The Elder was given a suit. It was magenta and somewhat translucent, though not enough so to warrant worry. He set off with a cadre of underlings for the tunnels. He would intercept the Hunter there so that she would not be suspicious, and he would die- for his planet and his people.

Ridley put on a new Phazon suit, careful not to turn it on before he saw the Hunter. He'd need the mutagen in Phazon and the metal computer systems to keep him alive after he lost to the hunter, allowing her to destroy the Seed.

The Chancellor, New Guy, and the rest of Ridley's personal guard waited outside the seed, talking in hushed tones about varied things.
The Gunner said, "How old is Ridley?"
"At least half a century," said the Veteran. Of all of them, he'd held the job the longest.
By now all of Ridley's personal guard knew that the Chancellor was more than just a member of High Command. They treated her with respected, but those who had fought at her side through missions, it was a big change.
The Veteran asked, "Chancellor, you're how old again?"
"Twenty-four," she said truthfully.
She was the fourth youngest there. After her was the Swordsman, the Grenadier, and of course New Guy who was fifteen at most.
Conversation rambled on and on, and the group got around to telling old war stories. The Veteran had too many to count, and he relished re-living them all in ridiculously hyperbolic detail.
By the time he made it to what the rest of them perceived to be the jillionth-skillionth story, they made him stop so someone else could have a turn to talk about life.
They asked the Chancellor for stories from her job. She laughed nervously and admitted that her job was boring, but the life expectancy and pay were unrivaled, and that all the factors evened out in the end.
"Hey!" Shouted the Gunner. All eyes moved skyward. The unmistakable aircraft of Samus Aran jetted through the sky like a brick colored bullet.
It went into the seed through a tiny opening.
This made everyone antsy, especially the Chancellor. Samus here meant that the Elder was dead. She didn't want to know the details. She was just sad, all in all. She hid her feelings well, knowing that she'd be going after Ridley in a few moments. Nearby were machines with pulleys that would be able to lift him.
The group felt a shudder from inside the seed. The Swordsman started to charge a weapon that he promised would punch a huge hole in the side of the seed they would use to get Ridley out.
"Hey!" yelled an unfamiliar voice.
The memebers Ridley's Guard turned their heads in unison. Eight Pirates, all of them with Phazon Devices, were standing in passive-aggresive stances. A shared look among the Guard reminded everyone that they were being controlled by Dark Samus. The Gunner drew his pistol and fired off two rounds into the face of the lead enemy. That's where his nickname came from. The rest of the group took cover with the exception of the Swordsman, who kicked on his armor.
The Swordsman had a set of armor that had been retired some three decades ago because it was reportedly 'too heavy' for troops even though it was the most powerful armor that Science Team had ever made. For a very well-built Melee warrior, it was ideal.
The Chancellor ducked back and got behind a conveniently placed crate. She fired off a cluster shot of five lasers into one of the Phazon enhanced pirates. It did close to nothing. She rolled across the ground and sprang up with her feet first, catching a Phazon-User in the face. The impact knocked him back a bit, but otherwise he was uninjured. The Chancellor got up as rapidly as she could and punched him in the face before he could let off any shots. She clawed him and then delivered a side kick to his chest over his primary heart. The Phason shielded her enemy, and because of that we was gravely worried.
Looking around, The Chancellor could find no weapon that would be able to get through the shields. Even the Swordsman was having trouble. She jumped up a level onto a catwalk encircling the seed. She found a power line (it was really more of a hose) and pulled one end out.
Phazon spewed like nuclear diarrhea.
"Fall back," She hollered to her teammates. They cleared out as fast as they could, taking seven or so seconds. The Chancellor let loose a spray of Phazon that caught the Phazon-Users. Sparks jumped and some of their Phazon Devices stopped working.
The Grenadier tossed a single grenade into their midst.
"Phazon's explosive," he said to reassure himself.
It most certainly was.
Remember how explosive that shit was back in Prime 1 and 2 and you could just fire a single charge shot and all the pirates around would get the hell smoked out of them? Those were the days, man.

Oh Yah! Blowen up Phazon was the best, but why in the world did they remove that in Corruption? it still blows, but no where NEAR as bad.
