Ridley strafed to the right, breathing heavily. The Phazon was deep in his blood, Dark Samus was working to black magic as the true hunter was launching missiles at him. His depth perception was shot, his chest armor was falling off, and his wings didn't feel right at all.
He fired a Phazon Blast. As much as he wanted to destroy the Hunter, he could not allow himself to do so. She would be instrumental in destroying Dark Samus. As such, Ridley had to be careful. He would have to hurt her, but not badly. He'd have to hold out and not die right away. Thanks to his second liver and all four kidneys, he was able to keep his blood more Phazon-clear than a pirate. But he felt like he was dying.
The Hunter double jumped and fired five missiles in tandem. Four hit their mark, and Ridley felt a jolt of pain as his side-plate cracked. Blood dripped onto the blue Phazon strewn about the ground.
He fired another shot at the hunter, catching her shoulder. He heard her make a sort of yelp, but she recovered.
As the reports had stated, she was wearing an augmented Hazard Suit she must have taken from the Pirates. She also had a sort of Phazon Device. She entered a Phazon state to counter his own. He hissed at her on gut instinct and arched his spine. She fired a Phazon missile and knocked him on his hind legs. His chest was vulnerable! This was it.
Ten missiles, straight to his cardio-respiratory system. He collapsed on his side and innitiated a sort of "illusion" he'd had his Guards make before. It set up a hologram in which he would appear to explode into Phazon.
He breathed heavy while fluids slowly drenched his lungs. His breathing was raspy, and it seemed such a great effort to take even a small breath. From behind the Hologram, he watched the Hunter aquire the weapon they'd hidden for her, and she got around to destroying the seed.
Come on, he prayed of his guards.
A sound like a wooden bludgeon striking meat came from the wall near him and one of his men pushed through the Phazon wall and started clipping harnessed to him. Ridley sighed, but knew the ordeal was not over.
He watched The Hunter in a daze. She was destroying everything in the seed. They didn't have long before the whole thing would implode at her hands. They started to pull him out.

The Chancellor hovered, looking at the Hunter. Murderer of her parents, scourge of the Pirate Empire. Then she sighed, saluted from where she would never be seen, and left to see Ridley off.

The Chancellor, The Veteran, and New Guy took Ridley to the hospital, where he was given emergecy surgery.
"How many of his organs did they replace?" Asked New Guy.
"Fifty percent," said The Chancellorm indicating 'more or less' with her hand.
"Now What?" asked the Veteran.
"Now, Samus Aran will board the Leviathan and destory Dark Samus," said The Chancellor in a hard and certain voice that told the other two she had all her faith in the Hunter.
The Veteran sighed, "The Hunter's good, but is she that good?"
"She's kicked Ridley's ass four times now- in Norfair, Tallon IV, Norion, and here," pointed out New Guy.
The Chancellor nodded in agreement.
The Veteran scratched his head. "Back in the day, when something like this happened, ..."

Ridley got up and looked around. His wings were in casts, along with his body. An intern with a clipboard and a hypodermic needle entered.
The medical staff had certainly improved their skills, and the single intern was able to give Ridley his shots and escape with his life (minus a finger.)
The Chancellor visited him in the hospital.
"I hate this place more than you know," he complained.
"You hate the GF."
Ridley looked for an excuse. "I can eat them. And it's at least something to do."
"You seem fussy today," the Chancellor taunted. Ridley knew she was joking, but still it annoyed him. He snapped his teeth in her face, but she pushed aside his snout.
Ridley shook himself as a dog might, ridding himself of an invisible and highly metaphorical water. His bandaged wings itched terribly unter their splints. "Can't they just fuse the bones? Or has science team not figured it out yet?"
"You know damn well that they can only fuse exoskeletons."
"I should get one of those," he joked. "Also, do they have any heat lamps? I'm so tired all the time. And cold."
At the same time, they both remembered the topic they'd simultaneously been avoiding in their subconscious.
"Has she boarded the Leviathan?"
"Aparently she needed security codes."
Ridley waited for more.
Then he said, "Well?!?"

"Yes!" The Chancellor said excitedly, slipping drastically from professionalism. She laughed at Ridley's frustration, knowing that he probably wouldn't slaughter her on the spot. He did swat at her with his claws, but in his medicated state he was easy to sidestep.
"Anyway, we're not positive how, but she got in. There was a battle over Phaaze, and The Hunter got to the surface. Unfortunately, we lost our only Aurora Unit."
Ridley snarled, "Boo hoo."
"The good news is also that she trashed Dark Samus."
The Chancellor could have sworn that she saw Ridley's tail twitch minutely in pleasure. She didn't mention it because she didn't feel like pushing her luck.
"She's also lost her Phazon Device, Hazard Suit, and several of her other suit augmentations. We had some cameras on Phaaze, see, and we got clips of her here and there. Oh, and about five thousand troops are in the hospital for Phazon poisoning. Dark Samus, you know."
Ridley nodded, looked sideways at the door, and said, "Now that you're leaving, can you get them to send another intern? I'm in pain and I'm hungry."
Much as The Chancellor didn't like being kicked out by Ridley (although he was being borderline polite) she left. There was a shitload of paperwork waiting to be filed, and she'd have to hire two new members to High Command.

The Etecoon was exploring Samus's ship quietly. It would wait here, and maybe, it decided, it would disembark somewhere interesting. Maybe meet up with another Etecoon and make friends with some other critters if it ever found them.
It jumped for a wall, then repelled off of it and grabbed the cieling. A wall-jump, if you will.
From its hiding place on the ceiling, it watched with interest as the Hunter deftly flew the vehicle. The Etecoon liked learning and understanding and playing, and maybe this knowledge would come in handy.
AAAGH. I thought I'd already uploaded this! SorrySorrySorry!

I like Etecoons. The tie-in came to me randomly. For those who don't know, Etecoons and a Dachora teach Samus to wall jump (I think that was it...) and then in a later game they fly her ship and save her life.
